I am so happy you have seen for yourself about how the Canadian Media potrays the negative only insteady of good parts of Africa like Zambia. I am Zambian too living in Toronto right now. I can also say that life in Canada is not easy as most Africans think of it. There is struggling people even here. I am a Nutritionist based in Toronto. Good work Tina for acknowledgignthe hard working people in Zambia. Thanks too to the good comment about the big city you have seen beside rural areas there in Chipata.

Let us know what the Zambezi river and valley are like? (if you make it there) Are there many people living off/around it? How does the river add to the peoples lives?

Tina,fabulous intro, I'm really looking forward to learning and travelling along with you, via your blog, for the next 4 months.

Will you have a chance to visit any health facilites (hopefully not for yourself of course!), I'd be very interested if you could describe what is available to the "average" Zambian family for medical services. I guess thats a tough question, as I'm assuming there would be more availability in the urban centers than in the rural areas. It would be interesting to know those differences though.

Hey man,
Looks like an amazing journey you have ahead.
Take lots of photos eh.
I'm off to Asia in September, looking to do something similar for some of the trip, a little more animal and ecosystem related compared to what your doing though.
Good to see thing havn't changed too much since we last spoke, still worried about the welfare of the world, not many people out there willing to do what you're doing.
Aside from helping people and working, remember to look around, and listen to the music (check out "on the turning away" - Pink Floyd, kinda relates to what you're doing).
